In one study by Haavik H, and Murphy B, neck pain patients were tested to see how accurately they were able to position their elbow compared to healthy individuals without neck pain. The people with neck pain weren’t as accurate in figuring out where their elbow joint was in space. However, after their neck was adjusted with a chiropractic spinal adjustment, the researchers found that that their elbow positioning sense had improved.In other words, when your spine is out of alignment (subluxated) then the messages going from your brain through the misaligned spine to your body, are interrupted and not able to flow through 100%. Improving the alignment and function of your spine and improving spinal health allows your brain to connect to your body better through your nerves and allow you to move through your day with more accuracy and ease.
